Dog owners turning their pets vegan to reduce carbon footprint
Pet owners are looking to turn their dogs vegan after research shows medium-sized dogs have a high carbon footprint.
The New Scientist shows the carbon footprint of a sports utility vehicle driven for 10,000 kilometres for a year is about less than half of a medium-sized dog like a labrador or a Golden Retriever.
Another study found dogs and cats in America eat about a third of the meat that humans do.
But Rita Panahi says, despite the research, environmentalists would never give up their pet dogs.
“They’re massive hypocrites.
“If you’re a greenie and you’re a dog lover you’re in trouble.
“You can’t have your puppy and save the world.”
