DONATE | Adopt a drought-affected farmer
Australian school children are dressing in mufti today to support farmers struggling through drought.
The Daily Telegraph and The Courier-Mail have partnered with Rural Aid to launch the campaign, which encourages people to ‘Adopt a Farmer’.
IGA has also offered $1000 grocery gift cards to kids who write their own stories about how drought is affecting their family.
The Daily Telegraph Editor Ben English tells Alan Jones the letters help people from the city understand what our farmers are going through.
“It brings tears to your eyes.
“People are completely devastated in the bush and it’s hard for us to imagine it.
“These letters certainly evoke some of the imagery.”
