Dr Charlie Teo believes he is being restricted due to ‘professional jealousy’
Dr Charlie Teo has “had enough” of not being able to operate in Australia.
A decision was made to prevent the neurosurgeon from performing certain operations until he obtains written approval from a fellow neurosurgeon.
The NSW Medical Council has also ordered Mr Teo provide proof that he’s explained the financial costs and risks to patients before operating.
Other neurosurgeons have been reluctant to take on the role of an independent reviewer.
A high number of former patients say they owe their lives to Mr Teo but unfortunately, “he is a victim of his own remarkable success”.
People in Australia are desperate for Dr Charlie Teo’s help and he told Chris Smith that “professional jealousy” is holding him back.
“It’s gang warfare,” he said.
“It’s purely based on professional jealousy, even a governing body has said that I’m a competent surgeon.”
