Dr Nick Coatsworth calls for review of COVID vaccines for children
Former deputy chief medical officer Dr Nick Coatsworth says the guidelines around COVID vaccines for children should be reviewed.
Experts in the UK are no longer providing COVID vaccines to healthy children aged 5-11.
Meanwhile, Sweden is not recommending the vaccine for teenagers aged 12-17.
While Denmark has gone even further – stopping the COVID jab for everyone under the age of 50.
In Australia, COVID vaccines are recommended for everyone over the age of five.
Dr Coatsworth told Ben Fordham Australia should review its guidelines.
“If you’re a healthy child or adolescent, the benefit of the COVID vaccine just isn’t there.
“If other countries that we trust are reviewing their adviceā¦ then we must review that advice as well.”
