Peter Barrett, second place recipient at this year’s Easter Show Great Backyard Pumpkin Challenge, is aiming bigger for next year. 

“Second place just makes you work harder for next year,” Peter told Chris O’Keefe.

This year’s winning pumpkin weighed in at a giant 183 kilograms, but Peter says he can still do better with more time and better land.

“Our aim is to grow 8 or 10 big ones, a huge one would be 700 kilograms,” he said.
