Nationals Senator Matt Canavan is slamming Labor’s climate plan for including a “backdoor carbon tax”.

Labor has set a new target to cut emissions by 43 per cent by 2030, similar to the 45 per cent pledge taken to the election in 2019

Nationals Senator Matt Canavan told Ben Fordham Labor’s promise of 600,000 jobs with a green economy is unrealistic.

“I’ve read fairy tales to my daughter that are more based in reality than this modelling.

“This is going to be an enormous pain to the Australian economy.”
