NRL CEO Andrew Abdo has emphatically made clear there needs to be a change to the current player transfer system, suggesting it’s time to bring in a trade window in light of recent situations involving Dylan Brown and Daly Cherry-Evans.

“I don’t like the system we’ve got at the moment, I think it’s disruptive to the season,” Abdo said.

Meanwhile, former NRL star Josh Morris has also called for the NRL to trial a trade window, saying “it’s almost getting to the point where we do need one”.
