Former NSW star Mark Gasnier has emphatically backed Manly superstar Tom Trbojevic to replace Latrell Mitchell for the State of Origin decider.

“I’d like to see Tommy go straight in there, I think he’d have a great combination with Zac (Lomax). I worked with him and he’s an intelligent guy, and knows what he’s coming into,” Gasnier said.

Meanwhile, former NSW Blues coach Brad ‘Freddy’ Fittler has said Bradman Best should be named in the Blues side.
