The Public Sector Union NSW Assistant General Secretary has revealed that Parklea Prison officers will strike on Friday.

Workers say multinationals have “lowballed” the contract for the private prison and are “making money by not rostering enough staff”.

In turn, assault cases are on the rise as well as poor working conditions.

Troy Wright told Ray Hadley Parklea Prison has the second worst rate of assaults amongst inmates in NSW and the officers are the worst paid in the country.

“They’re over it, enough is enough.”
