EXCLUSIVE: Paul Gallen confirms interest in NSW Origin coaching role
Paul Gallen has responded to calls for him to become the NSW Origin coach after Brad Fittler’s departure.
Gallen said he was as shocked as everyone else when Fittler’s exit was confirmed by NSWRL, but said he doesn’t have any intention to become the coach but would be interested in somehow being involved with the coaching staff.
The former Blues great said while he has done coaching gigs before, he doesn’t think the top job for NSW is quite in his wheelhouse yet.
“That’s a far cry from State of Origin coach. Whoever does get the job, I’d be happy to be involved”, he said on the Continuous Call Team as they broadcast from Taren Point Bowling Club.
