Incoming St George Illawarra Coach Shane Flanagan has revealed club legend Mark Riddell is returning to the club’s coaching staff.

Riddell, who’s a member of The Continuous Call Team along with Flanagan, will be a new Assistant Coach for the Illawarra Steelers SG Ball Cup side.

He’ll work alongside close mate Shaun Timmins who’ll be the new head coach and Flanagan says he’s excited to see him return to the club.

“Mark Piggy Riddell will be joining the club as an Assistant Coach next year in SG Ball,” Flanagan said.

“We asked Piggy to come back on board and for him to be involved with those young fellas.

“He has coached before at that level so I think it’s a great appointment.”

Riddell also spoke about his new appointment and says he’s looking forward to going back to the club and working with Timmins.
