Expect ‘more of the same’ arrests and seizures amid crackdown on crime families
NSW Police are conducting a blitz on the warring Alameddine and Hamze crime families, in the wake of the daylight executions of Salim and Toufik Hamze.
A Ford Mustang believed to be involved in the shooting has been seized, 10 people have been charged and $127,000 worth of various drugs also seized.
State Crime Command director Detective Chief Superintendent Darren Bennett told Jim Wilson none of the family members are cooperating with police, “but we wouldn’t expect them to”.
Over the coming weeks, the public can expect “more of the same: more arrests, more seizures, and an ongoing police effort to keep the community safe”.
“We’re doing upwards of 50 to 60 tasks a day to suppress this issue and make it go away, but no one’s saying it’s an exact science.
“We’re going to do our best.”
