Experts questioning twice weekly school rapid antigen testing
As Australia battles Omicron cases, states have introduced regular RAT testing twice a week for all students and staff.
Schools will be opening across the country, except Queensland which has delayed the start of their school year.
Infectious Disease Physician Dr Paul Griffin is questioning the plan and wondering if it’s sustainable telling Jim Wilson, “The situation remains controversial”.
“There are a lot of variables to consider.”
The introduction of the tests aims to continue to let children come to school and Mr Griffin said, “I think the use of rapid antigen testings is a potentially useful tool”.
“The more cases that around, then the more this could benefit.”
