A South Coast farmer, Sheridan Zuev, has expressed her concerns about potential bushfires in the upcoming summer and their impact on regional farms.

She mentioned, “Since April, we’ve only had 38mm of rain.”

“It’s been a pretty tough time with really low water reserves… then with all of the drought work you’re having to do to prepare for the fire season,” she continued.

Zuev explained that there are no hazard reduction measures in place near Cargo, NSW.

“It makes you wonder whether we’re important enough…”
