Farmers crying out for assistance on foot and mouth disease
Local farmers have spoken to Ben Fordham to call out for assistance with foot and mouth disease.
Airports are stepping up precautions as fragments of foot and mouth diseases are found here in Australia.
A number of small pork products found in Melbourne have been seized, containing non-active traces of the disease.
Sanitising foot mats and screening is now being used at airports for people travelling from Indonesia.
But Bringelly dairy farmer Michael has told Ben Fordham action has been too slow.
“We’ve got to make sure they are communicating clearly.”

The NSW Agriculture Minister Dugald Saunders joined Deborah Knight on Afternoons to talk about the importance of biosecurity measures at airports.
“My main focal point is making sure there are foot mats in Indonesia … it starts the awareness campaign,” he said.
“My next expectation, after you’ve walked through the mats in Sydney … you should have your bag inspected.”
