Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs and Finance Simon Birmingham believes the recent sanctions imposed on Russia by Prime Minister will eventually cause a long term impact.

Mr Birmingham told Jim Wilson, “The sanctions regime is about isolating Russia as effectively as we can”.

“They have a significant impact on how the financial situations operate across Russia.

Backing the decision by Scott Morrison the Minister for Finance said, “eventually they do drive division in a country”.
