Finian Egan named as paedophile priest fighting deportation
Irish paedophile priest Finian Egan has been named as the child rapist the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) is fighting to keep in the country.
Former Immigration Minister Peter Dutton’s decision to cancel Egan’s Australian citizen was overturned by the AAT Deputy President Janine Stevenson.
Ms Stevenson also ordered Egan not be named and any evidence given in Egan’s case be suppressed.
Ben Fordham speaks with Senator Derryn Hinch to find out more.
“It goes back to 1961. He sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl who was at school for disadvantaged girls.
“There’s no excuse for this. Why would you suppress the name of a man like this, for the crimes he’s committed?
“I will be pushing to get him deported as fast as possible.”
