Firefighters struggle to find water to battle Moorebank factory blaze
Over 120 firefighters are battling a blaze at a factory in Moorebank, south-west of Sydney, which has forced the evacuation of surrounding buildings.
Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Scott Dodson told Ray Hadley he’s confident firefighters will extinguish the blaze, but admitted it’s been challenging to access a water supply.
“It’s the fire hydrants themselves, and the water mains …we just draw so much water out of the system that quite often there’s just not enough … for us to fight big fires like this.
“It is still an escalating fire.”
