Five arrested as alleged drug dealer murdered in latest Sydney shooting
Five men have been arrested over Sydney’s latest shooting, which ended in the murder a man in the western suburbs last night.
At about 7.30pm, residents of Meridian Place at Doonside called police after hearing gunshots.
51-year-old Craig Anderson – a man locals claim was a neighbourhood ice dealer – was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.
Paramedics tried to save him but Anderson died at the scene.
A short time later, police arrested five men – aged 22, 27, 28, 29 and 44 – during vehicle stops in the St Marys area.
The shooting was targeted and involved members of an outlaw motorcycle gang.
But homicide detectives say it’s a personal dispute rather direct bikie-related business.
It’s the latest in a string of shootings across Sydney’s suburbs.
Last week, a man was shot at Canley Vale, a mum and baby escaped injury in a shooting at Mount Pritchard and two houses were sprayed with bullets at Regents Park and Ryde.
