Five killed on NSW roads in past week
Five people have died on NSW roads since the holiday period begun for most just a week ago.
Double demerits have also kicked in.
Traffic and Highway Patrol Chief Inspector Phil Brooks talks to Chris Kenny to emphasise the importance of road safety over Christmas.
“So far during the operation, 8,293 drivers have been booked for speeding. That tells us there are too many people in a hurry.
“That number is 90 more than last year.
“Stop every two hours. Freshen up, change drivers and continue your journey safely.”
Mr Brooks also tells Chris all 1,354 highway patrol officers in over 600 vehicles will be on NSW roads during this period.
