Former Wallaby trekking to the ends of the earth
Former Wallaby Dean Mumm is about to embark on a trek to the North Pole, raising money for charity.
He’s doing it in support of British organisation Borne, which aims to reduce the rate of premature births.
Mumm and his wife Sarah have twice experienced the loss of a new baby… their first daughter Sophie was born at 21 weeks, then son Henry at 28 weeks.
It’s a six-day, 100-kilometre cross-country skiing trek from a remote Russian base on the edge of the ice, with each member pulling a 40-kilogram sled.
Mumm tells Alan it’s certainly not going to be a walk in the park.
“I know it’s going to be a challenge and I know it’s going to be pretty dark as we walk eight hours a day, but it’s all worth it.”
