‘Frankly excellent’: Economist optimistic with Philip Lowe’s replacement
Philip Lowe’s tenure is over as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, and replacing him is Michele Bullock.
The role is hardly an enviable one, but economist Steve Hamilton feels the decision to appoint Bullock is a strong one.
“I think frankly it’s excellent. The government went for the internal candidate. I think given the uncertainty in the economic environment, it’s reasonable”, he told Chris O’Keefe.
