Free rides for Sydney’s bus commuters as union takes action
The Rail, Tram and Bus Union has instructed its members to switch off their Opal card readers for several bus routes.
Commuters in regions three and six – including Sydney’s inner west, Parramatta and Fairfield – will benefit from a free ride this morning as a result.
The industrial action comes as the union negotiates equal pay across regions from private operator Transit Systems.
