From ‘lucky country’ to ‘lockdown country’: Australia’s ruined reputation with tourists
Ben Fordham has argued Australia is falling from grace on the international stage as a result of our travel ban.
Australia was classified as the second-best country in the world by the United Nations last year.
“But in a short space of time, we’ve gone from the lucky country to the lockdown country,” Ben said.
He argued the federal and state governments urgently need to address hotel quarantine requirements, or risk wasting the tourism profile we’ve built.
“No one’s going to come here for a holiday if they have to spend the first two weeks stuck in a hotel.”
