Gender gap emerging in Australian schools
Australia’s latest NAPLAN results has revealed a growing gender gap between boys and girls in schools.
Year 9 boys are twice as likely to struggle in reading and writing than girls.
Kings School Parramatta former headmaster Dr Tim Hawkes told Joe Hildebrand the results aren’t surprising.
“The political climate is such that attention, at the moment, is far better applied to rescue the girls from the very few subjects where they are not already dominant.”
