Ghislaine Maxwell found guilty of sexual abuse charges
British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell has been found guilty of recruiting underage girls to be sexually abused by Jeffrey Epstein.
Jurors found Maxwell guilty on five of six counts after a full five days of deliberation.
The billionaire’s ex-girlfriend is facing the prospect of decades in prison.
She also faces two perjury counts that will be tried separately.

Nine News US correspondent Michael Genovese told Mark Levy there’s no indication of when sentencing will happen.
“We know that main count, which was count six, sex trafficking, carries a 40-year sentence.
“Keep in mind Maxwell is 60 – she just spent her 60th birthday in jail on Christmas Day.
“If she was to get the maximum sentence, it doesn’t leave her a whole lot of time for life after prison.”

Criminal psychologist Tim Watson-Munro told Joe Hildebrand there’s a chance Maxwell could reveal the names of others involved in the crimes.
“She will be looking at a way where she can mitigate against the severity of sentence,” she said.
“If she has a little black book as they reckon, some people may be very worried.”
