Gold prospector braves remote outback in search of treasure
A Western Australian prospector is taking on the harsh and remote outback in search of gold.
WA Amalgamated Prospectors and Leaseholders Association president James Allison told Deborah Knight gold prospecting is a boom or bust cycle, but it’s all worth it.
“Gold is where you find it. Western Australia is a big state, there’s a lot of land to cover and gold is still being found.
Mr Allison says he has a bulldozer to scrape the ground, and uses an electronic metal detector to look through the piles of dirt.
