Drivers will get up to $750 cashback as part of a major toll relief overhaul.
Around 500,000 motorists will get 40 per cent rebates if they spend at least $375 a year on tolls.
It will replace an existing scheme that slashes the price of vehicle registration by half or in full, once motorists exceed a certain toll threshold.
“It sounds good in theory, but if you’re working on the road you’ll know this will barely touch the sides,” Ben Fordham said.
