Good Tucker: British ‘godfather’ pops up in Sydney
Chef Alastair Little is known as the ‘godfather’ of modern British cooking and he’s making his way down under.
Little has stepped back into the kitchen with his pop-up Little Bistro at Hotel CBD, taking up shop in what was previously Bistrode, a restaurant of acclaimed chef Jeremy Strode who passed away last year.
He tells Chris Smith the menu features classic French, Italian and British flavours.
“Because Australia is so strong in Chinese and oriental cooking, I haven’t done any of that at all.
“Someone said the restaurant is like visiting London in the 90s.”
He warns against anyone expecting healthfoods which have crept into Sydney menus.
“No superfoods find their way onto my menu… there is broccoli!”
