Government ‘cannot force’ removal of flammable cladding on 44 Sydney buildings
Buildings across Sydney remain vulnerable to deadly blazes with many refusing to take up the government’s offer to remove and replace flammable cladding.
Minister for Better Regulation Kevin Anderson confirmed to Jim Wilson 44 buildings have not signed up to Project Remediate.
“We cannot force them, it’s a voluntary opt-in program.”
The three-year program is still in its “triage” phase, he said.
