Government to crackdown on criminals winding back car odometers
Efforts will be made to close a loophole that’s allowing criminals to wind back odometers on cars, and sell them for more than they’re worth.
They’re using a computer, plugged into a car, to set the reading wherever they like.
Customer Services Minister Victor Dominello told Chris O’Keefe the government will consider making odometer data available, so people can check information from the seller is okay.
