‘Granny Trolley solution’ – Liverpool Council’s plan to tackle supermarket trolley dumping

Liverpool City Council is proposing to subsidise “granny trolleys” for residents in an effort to curb the widespread issue of abandoned supermarket trolleys, which have cost the council thousands in collection and fines.
Deputy Mayor Peter Harle says the move could save ratepayers money and reduce street clutter, as council prepares for a major trolley blitz in May.
