‘Harden up!’: North shore residents up in arms over brush turkeys
North shore residents are on a mission to rid themselves of an exploding brush turkey population.
A North Sydney council community precinct meeting has called for new approaches to kerb the numbers of brush turkeys, through measures such as trapping and relocating males.
Wildlife Ecologist Dr Grainne Cleary told Ben Fordham she has one message for the residents.
“Harden the hell up!
“You guys are so lucky – this is an ancient species.”
