A 40 metre pothole on Booligal-Gunbar Road in the Hay Shire Council area has just been filled after flooding.

The pothole had three Olympic swimming pool’s worth of water in it, even a few dead fish.

Hays Shire Council General Manager, David Webb spoke with Chris O’Keefe about the big job.

“The biggest thing was trying to get equipment out there to drain it,” Mr Webb said.

“It’s an important road, so if they can’t use it, it’s a 100km detour.”
