Australian singer Greg Page has initiated a nationwide campaign called “Heart of the Nation” aimed at educating 20,000 Australians on CPR and AED usage.

The campaign encourages Australians to join the community responder program through the app. It allows users to alert a cardiac arrest event that contacts triple zero or nearby responders.

The initiative will see 200 automated external defibrillators (AED) distributed across communities, as Page explained that “80% of cardiac arrests happen at home”.

“That’s how we save lives in cardiac arrest, it’s about saving time and having people that can call push shock”.
