This morning Ray got an email from an Australian soldier on deployment in Afghanistan who won’t be home for Christmas.

The soldier wrote to Ray hoping he would pass on a message to his beautiful wife and “super mum” Louise.

“Things aren’t too bad here apart from missing home and family, especially as Christmas approaches,” the letter reads.

“Whilst I’m here, not only is she working hard in the emergency department as an nurse, she’s an extraordinary mother to our five kids.

“I want to thank my wife from the bottom of my heart for all she does for our family. Christmas is going to be bittersweet this year…I’ll miss my wife and children immensely.”
