Heavy rain batters Sydney as residents braces for wild weather
As the wild weather continues Sydneysiders are bracing for more destructive winds and heavy rain.
A listener sent Ray Hadley a video of rain bucketing down.
The video was taken near Wilton which is the main catchment area for Warragamba.
Federal Member for Lindsay Melissa McIntosh told Jim Wilson sandbags are out and about for the community near Penrith and the Nepean River.
“They should be getting them now.
“Hopefully they’ve already got them.”
Londonderry community hall has sandbags moving from their community centre.

NSW Transport Chief Operations Officer Howard Collins told Jim Wilson it is tough on the roads in Sydney.
“We are seeing flooding in all sorts of locations.”
The Transport Officer advises only drive if it is essential.
“It’s not going to get any better for the next 12 hours.”

Mayor of Penrith Tricia Hitchen told Jim Wilson the Penrith area is on standby.
The flood warnings for the Nepean river have been raised to major.
Preparing for the worst flooding she said the worst areas will be “along the river”.

Turf Farmer along the Hawkesbury River Jessica Micallef told Deborah Knight the current predicament was unexpected.
“It’s a little bit too soon than what we would like.
“We know what’s ahead of us… that’s the sad part.
“It’s just a really frustrating situation.”
