Author Christine Sykes has revealed the inspiration behind her latest book The Tap Cats of the Sunshine Coast.

The book is set in the stunning landscape of the Sunshine Coast and The Tap Cats face unexpected challenges when they enter the Seniors Superstar competition.

Through the observant eyes of Carol’s journalist niece Melissa, readers will meet Carol, Sofia and Bonnie whose lives have been intertwined since primary school.

Their hopes, dreams, heartaches and heart mends have been woven together in a close web for decades however their bonds are in danger of unraveling when long-held secrets are revealed.

Christine Skyes told Deborah Knight the book was inspired by her own aunty Peg who took up tap dancing in her retirement.

“I had the pleasure of seeing her in several performances.”
