A young swimmer will now be able to represent Australia on the world stage after a little help from The Ray Hadley Morning Show.

Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour yesterday raised the alarm with Ray Hadley that 17-year-old Abbey Connor was facing some difficulty collecting her passport from the Sydney Passports Office.

The office had called her father to collect the passport but after spending hours in line, he walked away empty handed.

Without her passport in hand, she was facing the possibility of being unable to fly to Budapest this weekend to compete in the Swimming World Championships.

Speaking to Ray this morning, Mayor Asfour said there’s been a happy outcome.
