‘How soft can you get’: Magistrate PRAISES climate protesting pest
Climate activist, Violet Coco spray-painted the front of Perth Police Station this week, but her response from the courts was softer than expected.
The 32-year-old was arrested by police and denied bail, but magistrate Matthew Walton commended her for her protest, saying it “should be supported”.
“You should be commended but you breached the law…I encourage you to do it… but in a lawful manner,” said Mr Walton.
Violet has been fined $200 and will have to pay $500 in damages.
