‘Hugely embarrassing’: Wacka says NAB needs to ‘move quickly’
Former National Australia Bank chairman Ken Henry was confident his bank was still selling products that ripped off customers even while the Royal Commission was taking place.
The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age uncovered the details from confidential documents leaked to them by a whistleblower.
The comments were made five months before the chairman spoke at the Royal Commission and now Finance Minister Mathias Cormann is demanding NAB and Mr Henry respond.
Former Nationals Senator and instigator of the Banking Royal Commission John “Wacka” Williams tells Ben Fordham Mr Henry needs to address the claims.
“This is hugely embarrassing for NAB and for Ken Henry and even Mathias Cormann.
“Ken Henry should really… move quickly to get everything put in order… compensation where necessary.”
