Human remains discovered in bushland near Taree
Detectives are appealing for help after human remains were found in bushland on the state’s mid-north coast this morning.
A Rural Fire Service crew made the discovery after extinguishing a fire in the Yarratt State Forest near Taree.

A crime scene has been established and police have launched an investigation.
A post mortem examination will be conducted to confirm identity and cause of death.
The remains are believed to be those of an adult.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
