Velma Walker has been a Rural Fire Service volunteer for 30 years and continues to serve in Shoalhaven.

Since joining the RFS in 1990 she has been awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal.

She tells Natalie Peters and Erin Molan that helping others is a priority of hers.

“I love, I absolutely love it.

“It’s my second home… I love what I do and I do it to the best of my ability.”
