‘I couldn’t agree more’: Alan Jones backs repeal of the lockout laws
Alan Jones has backed the government’s decision to repeal the lockout laws saying the Premier should “get a wriggle on and do it”.
Ms Berejiklian has announced she wants the 1.30am lockouts lifted in the CBD but to remain in place in Kings Cross.
The legislation was introduced in 2014 following the alcohol-fuelled killings of Thomas Kelly and Daniel Christie.
Premier Berejiklian says “it’s time to enhance Sydney’s nightlife” but promises community safety will remain a priority.
Sydney bar baron Justin Hemmes has praised the decision saying Sydney had become “boring”.
Alan Jones agrees and, after long-campaigning for the laws to be repealed, says it’s time for the government to make it happen.
“I agree with you Justin. It’s a dire situation.
“Gladys has got to make that decision and get a wriggle on and do it.”
