Uni papers using warnings for ‘childbirth’ and ‘dissociation’

Article image for Uni papers using warnings for ‘childbirth’ and ‘dissociation’

Editors of university newspapers have taken political correctness to a whole new level…

The regular magazines are now printing content and trigger warnings on articles in case readers are offended by topics such as “childbirth” and “dissociation”.

In one case, the University of Technology’s paper included a warning for ‘ableism’ because the article referenced a bar that was only accessible via stairs.

Former editor of Sydney University’s Honi Soit, Richard Walsh, tells Ben Fordham he can’t understand it.

“When I was asked about it yesterday… I thought April Fools Day had arrived early.

“It just sounds absolutely crazy.”

Richard says he hopes, in time, we’ll see the pendulum “start to swing back the other way”.
