ICAC in the spotlight: Ben Fordham warns of ‘final straw’ looming

Ben Fordham is questioning the methods of the Independent Commission Against Corruption after Gladys Berejiklian resigned as Premier.
ICAC announced an investigation into whether Ms Berejiklian influenced funding grants given to the electorate of Wagga Wagga while she was in a secret relationship with disgraced MP Daryl Maguire.
She is the third Premier to lose her job because of ICAC investigations, following Barry O’Farrell and Nick Greiner.
Former SES Commissioner Murray Kear and Crown Prosecutor Margaret Cunneen had their reputations tarnished, but both were found innocent of claims brought against them by ICAC.
“ICAC holds all the cards and maybe it’s time someone investigated ICAC,” Ben Fordham said.
“Nobody knows what’s coming with Gladys Berejiklian but we’ve seen ICAC’s form before.
“If the investigation doesn’t lead to criminal charges and a conviction, then this should be the final straw for ICAC as we know it.”
