Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson makes a bold statement about sexuality and body image in her latest film.

Good Luck to You, Leo Grande – directed by Australian Sophie Hyde – is about a retired widow who just wants good sex. She hires a young escort and ends up striking a beautiful connection with him.

Emma Thompson and Co-star Daryl McCormack stated Sophie made the film so special due to her being an “incredible guide and so intelligent”.

In fact, this is the first time Emma Thompson has come to Australia to promote a film – because she wanted to “express my admiration of [Sophie]”.

She says the movie has “got this immense power.”

The star actress admitted to Deb Knight that this is her first full frontal nude scene.

Emma Thompson said this is the right age for her to be nude as it “would not feel right if I was younger”.

Co-star Daryl McCormack also told Deb there is so much more to the film than just physical touch.

“We detach ourselves from our own feelings of our body that we can all be entrapped in.”

“The actress will also star as Miss Trunchbull in Matilda The Musical by Aussie Tim Minchin.

“I’m only going to be working with Australians from now on!”
