‘I’m shocked’: Penny Wong on USA trademark over Tassie Devils
The AFL has approved a new team in Tasmania, who wish to be called the “Tasmanian Devils”, but naming the team is looking to be more difficult than anticipated.
The “Tasmanian Devil” is unbelievably trademarked by Warner Brothers, who own the rights because of a famous Looney Tunes character.
Foreign Affairs Minister, Penny Wong, has weighed in on the name debate, telling Ben Fordham, “I’m shocked!…It’s pretty surprising an American company has the right to the name.”
“Warner Bros should stick to making movies…And give the devil back to us!” said Ben.
