A Russian-born tech entrepreneur has been extradited to the United States from Australia to face charges after scamming $20 million from text messages.

The consumer fraud scheme saw the 41-year-old dual Australian and Russian citizen in custody after an investigation from the FBI.

Australian Federal Police Commissioner Reece Kershaw told Ray Hadley, “This is why we’ve established a cyber command”.

“We’re going after those individuals.”

“If you click on the wrong thing then all of a sudden you can be de-frauded.”
