Aussie Female Tennis legend and Nine commentator Jelena Dokic has paid an emotional tribute to Ash Barty after announcing her retirement.

Jelena Dokic told Jim Wilson the decision was a surprise and a shock.

“I think we all knew she was never going to play for an extremely long time.

“I love who she is and what she stands for.

“She set the standard of not how to be just an incredible tennis player but an incredible person.”
